Mom Accused of Having Son Sign for Fraudulent Credit Card Charges Pleads Not Guilty

Shorewood woman facing two felony counts for unauthorized use of personal identification was back in court Oct. 31.

A 43-year-old Shorewood woman facing felony charges after allegedly stealing a credit card and having her 14-year-old son sign for fraudulent charges pled not guilty Monday, according to online court records.

Dion S. Crosley was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Oct. 4 with two counts of unauthorized use of personal identification. If convicted, she faces up to 12 years in prison and $20,000 in fines.

Authorities say Crosley used a stolen credit card to rack up nearly $500 worth of charges at area department stores and grocery stores on Sept. 19. Surveillance video reviewed by police show Crosley making multiple purchases from different stores, but hand the credit card to her son, who would scan and sign for the purchases, according to the criminal complaint.

She told police the purchases were to help her son buy items for homecoming. However, she couldn’t explain why purchases at Boston Store included women’s shoes and tights, according to the criminal complaint.

Crosley is scheduled to be back in court Nov. 18.
