Homicide Charges Explored against UWM Student following Death of Man in Dorm

UWM police were called to a dorm room around 11 Monday night after a 56-year-old Watertown man was found unresponsive at a desk with drug paraphernalia.

Authorities are exploring homicide charges against a 19-year-old University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee freshman student after a family friend was found dead in his dorm room.

UWM police were called to the student's room around 11 Monday night after the victim — 56-year-old Timothy Stanczyk of Watertown — was found unresponsive at a desk, according to WISN 12 News.

Stanczyk's death was determined to be accidental, and a medical examiner's report obtained by the TV station noted there was no trauma, however drug paraphernalia, including a tourniquet, was found on the desk. The results of toxicology tests aren't yet available.
