Four Garage Thefts Reported Last Week

Shorewood police made arrests in two of the four reported incidents.

Four garage thefts were either attempted or successfully executed last week in Shorewood.

Shorewood police arrested a man who stole a leaf blower from an open garage in the 4200 block of Olsen Avenue Saturday morning.

Police also cited two young men who were caught trying to steal two bicycles from an open garage in the 4000 block of Woodburn Street at 12:05 a.m. on Aug. 17. They fled after a resident confronted them, and police later cited them for disorderly conduct and trespassing.

A lawn mower and string trimmer valued at a total of $500 was stolen from an unlocked garage in the 4400 block of Marlborough Drive between 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. on Aug. 15 .

Someone entered an unlocked garage in the 4300 block of Alpine Avenue and stole a Trek bicycle valued at $700. The theft is believed to have occurred between 5 p.m. on Aug. 12 and 7 a.m. on Aug. 15.

Two other bicycle thefts occurred in the village last week:

  • An unlocked bike was stolen from the bike rack at Culver's between 3 p.m. and 3:40 p.m on Aug. 15.
  • Someone stole a locked bicycle from the 1700 block of Capitol Drive between 10:45 a.. and 11:45 a.m. on Aug. 13.
