Feds Charge Shorewood Man with Transportation of Child Porn

Kenneth Johnson also indicted in federal court on possession child pornography and accessing a protected computer.

A 55-year-old Shorewood man was indicted in federal court Wednesday on five counts relating to possession and sharing of child pornography.

Kenneth Johnson faces three charges of transportation of child pornography, one count of possession of child pornography and one count of accessing a protected computer, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney's Office.

The statement says that Johnson is alleged to have "shared image and video files containing child pornography over the Internet via a peer-to-peer file-sharing program on his home computers with undercover agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Los Angeles, California; Springfield, Illinois; and Kansas City, Missouri." The incidents occurred on March 31, April 17 and June 17 of this year.

Johnson already faces one state count of using a computer to facilitate a child sex crime, a Class C Felony. He chatted online with a Milwaukee Police Department detective, whom he thought was a 15-year-old Glendale boy. , according to police, and was arrested there. That case is scheduled for trial on Jan. 9.

The federal charges of transportation of child porn carry minimum five-year prison sentences for each count, with a maximum of 20 years. The other counts each have maximum sentences of five years in prison.
