Crime Time: Burglary, FBI in Shorewood, Drunken Driving

A roundup of the latest from the Shorewood police reports.

A house in the 4500 block of North Bartlett Avenue was burglarized August 4, after police say the house was entered through an unlocked window. A credit card was stolen, but police don't know whether it was used after the theft.

Also in the police report:

  • The Federal Bureau of Investigation and Milwaukee police were executing a search warrant at a house in the 4100 block of North Newhall Street Aug. 4, and recovered some drug paraphernalia, a small amount of marijuana and pills. The items were turned over to Shorewood police, as they weren’t related to the FBI’s investigation, Shorewood police say. Authorities aren’t releasing information on the circumstances surrounding the search warrant.
  • A 57-year-old Manitowoc man was arrested Aug. 5 for operating while intoxicated after initially being pulled over for driving without his headlights. Police say the man had blood-shot eyes, slurred speech and smelled of alcohol when they stopped him the 1100 block of East Capitol Drive around 10 p.m. He had a blood alcohol content of .20 and it was his first such offense.
  • A Milwaukee man and Glendale man, both 18, were arrested Saturday for possession of drug paraphernalia after police observed the men sitting in a parked car in a parking lot in Estabrook Park. Police say they observed the driver brushing what appeared to be marijuana off his pants and the car smelled of burnt pot. Police recovered a digital scale with marijuana residue and a round wooden pipe.
  • Shorewood police are investigating an allegation of sexual assault after a Shorewood woman told police Aug. 5 she was assaulted in April of 2009.
  • Around $200 in damage to a vehicle parked in parking lot in the 2500 block of East Capitol Drive was reported Sunday. A key was used to scrape the front passenger’s side door and the rear passenger side door, police say.
  • A $300 12-foot copper rain gutter and two $300 black metal solar lights were reported stolen Sunday from a home in the 3500 block of North Downer Avenue. The owner of the home said the items may have been stolen back in early June.
  • A $400 Giant rebel bicycle was reported stolen Aug. 4 from the front of , 3549 N. Oakland Ave.
