Crime Time: Attempted Auto Break-In, Retail Theft

A roundup of the latest from the Shorewood police report.

The owner of a 2008 Toyota reported $200 in damage Thursday, after illegal entry was attempted to the vehicle and a door was nearly pried open. It was parked in a driveway in the 1900 block of East Shorewood Boulevard.

Also in the police reports:

  • Several vehicles parked on North Wilson Drive between East Capitol Drive and East Olive Street had minor damage because of ice chunks falling from FOX6 WITI’s TV tower Wednesday. No one was injured and police cordoned off the area.
  • A 42-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for retail theft Thursday after he walked past cash registers with a $37 bottle of Absolut vodka at Pick β€˜n Save, 4145 N. Oakland Ave.
  • A FedEx box containing $104 in items was reported stolen Tuesday, from the lobby of an apartment in the 1700 block of East Newton Avenue.
  • A bike lock was broken and $260 SE Draft Lite bicycle stolen in the 1800 block of East Kenmore Place Tuesday.
  • A $200 Gary Fisher Kaitai mountain bicycle was stolen from a home in the 3800 block of North Bartlett Avenue.
