Citgo Owner Punches 2 Men Trying to Steal Cigarettes

The gas station owner told police one man tried to take a carton of cigarettes from a storage room while the other man distracted him by checking out.

The owner of Shorewood’s Citgo didn’t fall for a ruse two men tried to pull on him in order to bilk his gas station out of a carton of cigarettes on Friday.

The owner of the gas station located at 1602 E. Capitol Dr. told police one man tried to take a carton of cigarettes from a storage room while the other man distracted him by checking out.

He confronted the man attempting to take the cigarettes, a scuffle ensued and he ended up punching both men in the face on their way out of the store, he told police.
