2 Transported to Hospital, Pedestrian Struck in Capitol Drive Car Accident

Police say a woman driver struck a light pole mid Saturday afternoon — sending her and a passenger to the hospital. The light pole in turn struck a man who was walking with a woman and child in a stroller.

A female driver and her male passenger were transported to the local hospital Saturday after police say she veered off the road and struck a light pole, which in turn struck a pedestrian walking on the sidewalk.

According to Shorewood police, the woman was driving in the 1200 block of East Capitol Drive at 3:19 p.m., when she left the road and struck a light pole. The light pole in turn struck a man walking with a woman and child in a stroller. The pedestrian sustained minor scratches to a leg, and was able to walk away without medical attention. The female and child pedestrian weren't harmed, police say.

Today's TMJ4 reports the driver suffered from a medical condition causing the car accident, but police say they can't confirm that.
