Home Burglary Suspect Nabbed by Police

As Shorewood braces in the wake of eight home burglaries over a few weeks, authorities say they have suspect in custody after a recent burglary.

Police have arrested a 25-year-old Milwaukee man in connection with a burglary on Monday.

The neighbor of a condo owner in the 4000 block of North Downer Avenue phoned police to report suspicious activity. Based on a description provided, police were able to apprehend the suspect.

Police say the suspect had a knife, they believe he used to pry open a common door to the condo building, and had property from the residence on the block.

The burglary marks the ninth since Sept. 27 in Shorewood. Homes on the east side of Milwaukee, Whitefish Bay and Fox Point have been targeted as well.

It’s unclear whether the suspect is connected to other burglaries. Β Β
