Authorities Looking for Milwaukee Woman Facing Felony Drug Charge after Missing Court Date

An arrest warrant has been issued for a Dana Sophia Johnson, 42, for jumping bail on charges of forging an Oxycodone prescription.

Police have issued an arrest warrant for a 42-year-old Milwaukee woman, who was brought up on a felony drug charge in October, after she failed to appear in court on Nov. 23.

Dana Sophia Johnson was arrested on Sep. 19 at Shorewood's Family Pharmacy, 3512 N. Oakland Ave., after the pharmacy store manager became suspicious of a written prescription for 90 Oxycodone pills from the Froedtert Medical College Eye Institute. She faces one charge of attempting to obtain a controlled substance with a fraudulent prescription.

Because the physician listed on the prescription does not prescribe the medicine, the store manager called the police. When police called the physician listed, he said that Johnson was not a patient and that the signature on the prescription was not his.

Johnson told police that the prescription was for a man named Tim who filled out the prescription in front of her and offered her $200 in exchange for the pills.

An employee at Family Pharmacy said that the most common fraudulent prescriptions they see is for narcotics, specifically Oxycodone.

“We’re trying to get the bad scripts out of here," an employee told police. "We’re able to track them better. The people that get Oxycodone prescriptions here, it’s usually from their regular doctor. This last incident was odd."

The employee said that fraudulent prescriptions are not uncommon but that the pharmacy pays close attention to the validity of each prescription.

Once Johnson is arrested, she will be remanded to the commissioner. If convicted, Johnson could be fined $5,000 and up to three years in prison.
