Armed Robbery Reported On Ardmore Avenue Saturday

Police say a resident was walking toward an apartment complex when he was approached by a man toting a handgun, and told to handover his property.

Police say a resident was robbed at gunpoint just after midnight on Saturday on a stairway behind a Shorewood apartment building.

According to police, the resident was walking toward an apartment complex in the 4100 block of North Ardmore Avenue when he was approached by the suspect, who pointed a small handgun at him and demanded property. The suspect fled after grabbing the property.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5 feet 10 inches, skinny, 20-to 25-years old, with a goatee. He was last seen wearing a loose fitting black hooded sweatshirt with his hood up, black sweatpants and black tennis shoes.

Saturday's robbery marks the fourth since March 23. On Tuesday, an armed robbery was reported near East Wood Place and North Newhall Street.Β
