Police say a group of men driving a dark blue sedan attempted to rob two people in separate incidents early Friday night in Shorewood.

At about 6:38 p.m. in the 3700 block of North Maryland Avenue, police say a Pizza Shuttle delivery driver was sitting in his car texting when a dark blue 4-door sedan pulled up. A suspect opened the victim's car door and attempted to grab his phone, according to a text alert from police. When the victim resisted, the suspect got back into the vehicle and it fled south Maryland Avenue. The vehicle was last seen eastbound on East Edgewood Boulevard from Maryland Avenue.

Less than 10 minutes later, a victim was sitting in her car in the 1100 block of East Kensington Boulevard when a 4-door sedan with three male occupants and Michigan plates pulled along side her. The front passenger jumped out and opened her door, demanding she hand over her phone, multiple times. When she refused, the man got back into the car and it fled east on Kensington Boulevard, then south on North Ardmore Avenue.

Police say the front passenger is described as a black male in his early 20s, 5 feet 8 inches, thin, with short hair, wearing a red hat, long red shirt and jeans. No weapon was displayed but the victim told police she saw a bulge in his front right pocket.

Shorewood police are reminding residents to keep car doors locked when you're in your car, and honk your horn or drive away upon feeling threatened.

Police are asking residents call 911 if they see the dark blue sedan with Michigan plates in their neighborhood.
