The Gagster-in-Chief

His multiple appearances on late night talk shows seem to be going to his head.  Here are a couple of his choice lines from the Correspondent's Dinner last night:

"The gridlock has gotten so bad in this town, you have to wonder — what’d we do to piss off Chris Christie so bad?"

“I am happy to be here, even though I am a little jet-lagged from my trip to Malaysia. The lengths we have to go to get CNN coverage these days".

Historically, the POTUS has left working blue and trotting out edgy material (Malaysia - 200+ dead people - hilarious!) to the professionals who show up at these events, preferring instead to maintain the dignity of the office by tossing out a few softball zingers.  Not the current office holder.  Apparently buoyed by the boffo reviews he's gotten for going head to head with the likes of Jon Stewart, Jimmy Fallon, Zach Garumphanucklus (not gonna look it up) and others, he felt no such compunction to restrain himself on behalf of the honor of the office to which he was elected.

I've honestly had about enough of this guy.  He's about as clueless and un-self-aware as they come and has been since day one.  His Achilles heel all along has been not knowing when to rein it in and let the dust settle.  This is just another example (albeit one of less importance than other instances one might cite) of him thinking it's all about him.  Not the office.  Not the duties of the office.  Not the negotiations he engages in and then blows out of the water by spouting off at a press conference or in an interview. Not the fragile relationships that hold our government and cooperative arrangements with other countries together.  Just him.  "Look how clever I am. Look how everyone loves me."  He can't be gone soon enough.
