Help Penfield Children's Center buy a New Gait Trainer!

Penfield Children’s Center is getting involved with #GivingTuesday on December 3, a national celebration of generosity following Black Friday and Cyber Monday.  Started in 2012, #GivingTuesday is a national day of giving at the start of the annual holiday season.

Promoted primarily through social media, it celebrates and encourages charitable activities that support nonprofit organizations.

As part of #GivingTuesday, Penfield has created the Up n’ Go Campaign in an effort to raise money to purchase a toddler gait trainer, a piece of equipment that helps build strength and balance for children who have difficulty walking independently.  For children like Mario, who has a rare genetic disorder that causes contractures in his joints and prevents him from bending his arms and legs, a gait trainer may be their only opportunity to stand up and walk on their own.

By sharing Mario’s story through its fundraising page on Indiegogo.com, Penfield will be among those nonprofit organizations actively participating in this national one-day campaign and raising necessary funding to purchase this piece of medical equipment.  Get involved in the conversation on #GivingTuesday by visiting Penfield's Facebook page and Twitter account.  Most importantly, spread the word and share the campaign with your friends.  We're on our way to helping more kids in our Center walk on their own.
