"Eggs Benedict" Papal Portrait Pays Off, Again.

Niki Johnson, the Shorewood "artist" who created the portrait of Pope Benedict out of rubbers has been named the "Artist in Residence" at the Pfister Hotel.  Details of what that all entails can be found at the link below.

This thing still chaps my ass.  As expected, it proved to be a lucrative venture, thanks to its controversial nature.

Thanks so much to the owners of the hotel, Marcus Hotels and Resorts, for sticking a thumb in the eye of those in the Milwaukee Catholic Community by rewarding her for her disrespectful depiction of the earthly head of their Church.  Since this woman has done nothing else of note recently, it can only be concluded that it was this piece that caught their fancy and caused them to offer her the position.

The portrait itself was purchased by Joseph Pabst and gifted to the Milwaukee Art Museum.  Have no idea if they're displaying it, currently.

Note to any aspiring artists out there:  Glue gun + Personal product + Famous, yet acceptable, target of ridicule = Pay day
