Obituary: Candy Jo Swosinski

July 12, 1956 - May 8, 2012

Candy Jo Swosinski entered eternal life unexpectedly on May 8 at the age of 55. Born in Waukegan, IL on July 12, 1956. Resident of Shorewood. Beloved wife of the late Gregory Swosinski. Treasured daughter of Elizabeth Hoem and the late John Hoem. Loving sister of Sue (Dan) Henry. Cherished aunt “Cork” of Tony (Emmy) Henry and Rachel (Brian) Elliott as well as great aunt of Nate and Elizabeth Henry and Annika and Sam Elliott. She is further survived by other relatives and wonderful friends and neighbors.

Candy was a graduate of Waukegan High School and UW Parkside. She was known for her love of dogs and the loyal companionship she found in them. She treasured her time with her neighbors and was always willing to lend a helping hand. However, most of all was the obvious love she had for her family, especially her nieces and nephews, doting over them as if they were her own children.

Candy was a compassionate person whose passion for life will live on in all those who knew her. Visitation will take place at the Feerick Funeral Home on Saturday, May 12 from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM. A service at the funeral home will follow at 11:30 AM. Interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery will be private.
