Obituary: Lois May Fischer Bullis

Bullis, an avid bridge player who enjoyed traveling the world, attended Shorewood High School. She passed away peacefully Saturday in Miami, FL at the age of 88.

Lois May Fischer Bullis passed away peacefully Saturday in Miami, FL. She was 88. 

A beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she was born on December 12, 1924, the only child of Edgar Theodore Fischer and Ruth Dammann Fischer.

She attended Shorewood High School and Wisconsin State Teachers College. Together with her dear, late husband Harvey Raymond Bullis, Jr. she was involved with Bullis Bromeliads nursery in Princeton, Florida and enjoyed traveling the world. She was a dedicated member of Christ Lutheran Church of Pascagoula, Mississippi and a former member of Luther Memorial Chapel in Shorewood.

An avid bridge player, she was a member of the Tuesday Bridge Club in Pascagoula for many years. Her greatest joy was having her large family gathered around her. She had a positive spirit and was a gracious friend to all who knew her.

Bullis is preceded in death by her husband Harvey Raymond Bullis, Jr., and her daughter Margaret Louise “Peggy” Guice. She is survived by her two daughters Susan (Bob) Kissell of Wilmington, Delaware, and Jeanmarie (Peter) Floyd of Pascagoula, Mississippi, and one son Harvey Bullis III of Princeton, Florida; beloved grandchildren Carolee Kunz, Suzanne Delaplane, Grant Burton, Rick Guice, Margaret Guice, Traci Floyd, Scott Floyd, David Floyd, Harvey Bullis IV, and Thomas Bullis; and twelve great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at the Feerick Funeral Home on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.. Interment will follow at Forest Home Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Luther Memorial Chapel, 3833 N. Maryland Ave., Shorewood, WI 53211.
