Easy Breezy

A Shorewood Patch.com newbie has arrived.

It's one of those phenomenal days where I can have the windows open in my apartment; a cool breeze flows in fluidly and makes the place feel like heaven! It's a welcomed change following day after day of blasting the air conditioning because of the staggering heat and humidity.

Of course now I have managed to get a slight cold, for which I blame the day to day tasks which require me to go from air conditioned building, to the sluggish outdoors and back into a cold, canned environment.

I refuse to let my stuffy head stand in the way. I've cleaned the apartment, completed an art project and now I'm enjoying the aforementioned breeze...and the witty humor of the Golden Girls (yes, I have them on DVD).

Perhaps an introduction is order. If you've read this far, you deserve to at least know a little bit more about the person behind the rambling.

I've lived in the Milwaukee area for nearly 10 years. I left my hometown of Manitowoc as a college freshman, searching for a bigger city, with more 'worldly' experiences. After I graduated in 2007, I happily stayed in the area.

After hopping from the college neighborhood, to the East Side I lived for 3 years in the very South end of Whitefish Bay. So far South, I was just inches from 'Kensington Square' as it developed. In June of this year, my boyfriend and I made the leap a whole 2 blocks South and moved into Shorewood, together. So here we are - and here I am on Patch!

I am so happy to call Shorewood home, especially the ever-developing area that is steps from my door.

The direction of this blog will be dictated by my every day life. I feel like there are so many political articles and discussions out there and frankly, that's not my thing. If you feel bombarded by the fiery debates of today's politics, stop on over here for a change of pace.

My preferred issues of interest may include, but are not limited to: new recipes, craft projects, the apartment lifestyle, things I observe in the community, family, my DIY adventures, reminiscing, holidays, restaurants, adult beverages - who knows what else!

So with that, I'll end my maiden voyage into the Shorewood Patch blogging community. Time for me to lay back and enjoy the buzz of the cicadas...and that breeze!
