NSPN Event: Self-Advocacy and Self-Determination

Who: Parents, educators, professionals and community members with interest in the special educational needs of students in the early childhood, elementary, middle and high schools of the North Shore and beyond

What: Please join the discussion led by our panelists: Tammy Kasper – SLP, certified behavior analyst and director of The Center for Autism Treatment, Alie Kriofske Mainella - Youth Leadership Specialist at Independence First, and Cindy Bentley - self-advocate, author and co-director of People First Wisconsin.  Panelists will draw from personal and professional expertise to share ideas on how to create and extend opportunities for autonomy, independence and interdependence, as well as how to support children with differences as they communicate and navigate towards a self-designed, self-directed future.

RSVP: To Terri Hart-Ellis at hartellis@sbcglobal.net by Monday, January 14th.  Your RSVP is encouraged to ensure we have adequate seating and materials.  If you forget to RSVP or miss the RSVP date, don’t let that stop you from attending! For questions or interest in joining
our planning committee, please call Terri at 414/217-8999.
