What's Up Next Week in Shorewood? National Night Out, Village to Discuss Development, Summer Concert

A look ahead at next week's local events and news.

National Night Out

The annual block party against crime on Tuesday from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Atwater Elementary, 2100 E. Capitol Dr., has a full evening of family-friendly activities set. Toy Story 3 will be shown on an outdoor movie screen, there will free popcorn donated by the Shorewood Men's Club, Wesley Manko from Defense Works, will give a demonstration on practical self defense measures, Glendale police will have his K9, "Boomer," do a demonstration and the North Shore Fire Department will provide a children's activity called the "flame house.”

The village’s Community Development Authority will meet 7:30 Friday morning to discuss new details for both the development set for the Sendik’s parking lot, 4027 N. Oakland Ave., and the Ravenna development slated for the vacant lot across from the North Star American Bistro in the 4500 block of North Oakland Avenue.
