Summer Concert Series Comes to An End with Sounds of Celtic, Bluegrass

The Gleasons play Hubbard Park Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

The Celtic and bluegrass group The Gleasons will play Shorewood Thursday as the final act in Shorewood’s summer-long concert series.

The group will fill , 3565 N. Morris Blvd., with the sounds of fiddles and flutes when the concert starts at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

The group of seven classically-trained artists has been together since 2004 and play a mixture of traditional Irish, bluegrass, Americana, a hint of Latin, rock and American pop.

Drummer Barry Salem is a Shorewood native and said the local group, with all the members from the Milwaukee area, has enjoyed playing Hubbard Park in the past for the Shorewood Men’s Club.

“We really love playing Shorewood,” he said. “It’s great being able to play close to home.”
