Report: State Complaint Filed by West Allis Woman over Treatments from Shorewood 'Intuitive Healer'

Sik Kin Wu of East Wisdom Healing Center, isn't licensed to practice medicine, but performs spinal manipulation and treats conditions like erectile dysfunction by putting his hands in patient's vaginas and rectums, according to a Journal Sentinel report.

The owner of Shorewood’s Eastern Wisdom Healing Center was the subject of a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel investigation, after a West Allis woman filed a state complaint saying her medical condition was worsened by the center’s treatments.

The newspaper says Barbara May's, of West Allis, spinal cord disease deteriorated over the course of one year and 11 treatments at the hands of “intuitive healer” Sik Kin Wu. It started with numbness and tingling in her arms and ended with her struggling to stand and walk.

Wu, who also owns connected to the treatment center at 3600 N. Oakland Ave., isn’t licensed to provide health care in the United States. Yet, he provides treatments similar to a chiropractor or physical therapist, manipulating patient's spinals. Wu said he has received a certificate after completing a four-month acupuncture and Chinese massage program in Shanghai.

Many rave about Wu's treatments, calling him a "genius," the newspaper found. In fact, patients find Wu for treatment through word-of-mouth or friend's recommendations.

Though state law prohibits the unlicensed practice of treatment that penetrates human tissue, Wu charges $350 to heal conditions like erectile dysfunction and ovarian cysts by putting his hands in patient's vaginas and rectums, the newspaper said.
