Bitter Cold Changes to Snow Friday

About a half-foot of snow is expected Friday, but temperatures will rise from today's deep freeze.

It's bitterly cold today β€” but not as cold as this week in 2009, when wind chills dipped to 28 to 38 degrees below zero.

Wind chills this morning were between 10 and 15 below zero, according to the National Weather Service. Temps will reach a high of 7 today.

But drivers should start preparing their vehicles for a snow storm tomorrow that could drop as much as 4 to 7 inches of snow, and be especially messy during Friday's evening commute.
