Pedestrian Safety Comprised by Lack of Vision Triangles

In the myriad ordinances in the Village, there are rules on the placement of bushes, fences, etc. that block the view of drivers who are entering or leaving alleys or driveways.

The alley that runs between Ardmore and Woodburn in the 4400 block is kind of a long horseshoe -- there is a south and north entrance to it on Ardmore,  they are perpendicular to Ardmore, and then a curve that joins with the section that runs parallel to the streets.

The north entrance to the alley (near Kensington) has tall bushes on both sides that completely block the vision of the sidewalk that the cars have to cross to get to Ardmore.

Even driving a pickup, it is impossible for me to see if there is a small child walking or riding a bike or trike coming into the crossing from either direction.

These is a crossing point just ripe for a tragic accident.  If the bushes were tapered down towards the sidewalk, the vision triangle would enable drivers to see who in on the sidewalk and if they are about to cross their path.

I don't know who is suppose to enforce this --- the DPW?  the Cops"  the Building and  Inspection Dept?  They all use the alley, so whoever is responsible should be well aware of the existing danger.

The Pedestrian Committee may want to take up the lack of adequate vision triangles, not only on Ardmore, but throughout the Village -- maybe they would do a survey and submit it to the proper department for remediation.
