WTMJ4 Chooses 'Circus' over Presidential Address on Jobs During Recession

Channel 4 prefers to offer circus to the people in lieu of the all important discourse on jobs and the economy.

Channel 4 has decided to televise the Packer circus, rather than the important presidential address on jobs and the economy during this time of high unemployment, increasing foreclosures and bankruptcies, and what looks like a double-dip recession.

Is Channel 4's decision because it knows that the average Wisconsinite is unwilling or unable to understand and participate in the national debate on jobs and the economy?

Or is Channel 4 shortchanging the people in its quest for profits over politics?

I watched the Republican candidates' debate last night, and although I pretty much anticipated what they would say, I still learned new things, and am thinking about some new solutions to old problems. It was educational, and important. Too bad it was only on one channel that I could find it (MSNBC) I was really surprised that Fox and CNN were not covering it.

I wonder if Joe Six Pack being more interested in watching Blood Sports is good for the country — maybe Joe's fascination with circus contributes to an ignorance of what is really happening in politics, and the future of Joe, his family and our country.
