The Nouns of Shorewood

If our home is where our hearts are, what is at the heart of our home? The people, places and things, that's what. Chrissy Rose Photography tells Shorewood's story through photos.

Home. It’s where the heart is, right? I heart Shorewood and I feel very much at home here so for me the old cliche is true. We moved here almost 3 years ago from Florida, not knowing a soul or the area. Choosing our new town was no easy decision. This is where we would invest in a house, raise our child, develop new friendships, shop, eat, play - in short, live. It was a little like Goldilocks and the three bears for us...one was too big, one too small...Shorewood fit just right. And now we call it home.

So if home is, in fact, where the heart is, what is at the heart of our home? What makes this place so great? I believe it is the people. The sense of community among residents and businesses. I also throw some credit toward the lovely places around town. And who could forget our favorite things that make living here such a delight. So, for me it is the people, places and things... the “nouns of Shorewood”, if you will.

Don’t worry, it isn’t all sweet and simple. Our home has its issues, challenges and faults. In the end, that stuff is necessary too.

How can one possibly blog about our home with any justice? Well, this one will try by telling our story through pictures -- I am a photographer afterall. Welcome to the photo essay of our home, Shorewood.

To kick us off, here are some sights around town captured this week. These are mostly places that make life rich for me in Shorewood. We'll be sure to feature some people in future posts.
