A Milwaukee developer is proposing the construction of a mixed-use development that would inlcude 84 upscale apartment units and a new Walgreens store on the already booming North Oakland Avenue.

Under the plan, the at 4081 N. Oakland Ave would move south across East Kenmore Place to the parking lot, 4027 N. Oakland Ave., and the developer would add the apartments above the retailer.

Parking would still available between the development and Sendik's, and a three-level parking structure would go in the parking lot behind Sendik’s, the developer says.

A preliminary review for the latest project has been completed by village staff, according to the developer.

If the proposal is approved by the CDA and Village Board, the firm says it would start construction this year.
