Where to Find a Christmas Tree in the North Shore

Your guide to finding pre-cut Christmas trees and cut-your-own Christmas tree farms north of Milwaukee.

It's about that time of year when families go on the hunt for the perfect Christmas tree.

There's nothing like picking out a fresh Christmas tree. Some families like to make a day of it, trekking across acres of spruces, firs and pines with a hot cup of cider. Others prefer the convenience of a nearby parking lot sale.

If you don't already have a favorite tree locale — or even if you do — here are a few suggestions to help you on your hunt for the perfect tree:

  • Ideal Property Management will offer fresh-cut Christmas trees for sale in the empty lot near North Oakland Avenue and East Edgewood Avenue in Shorewood. The lot will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. starting Nov. 21 through Dec. 24, though it will be closed on Thanksgiving. The lot will also sell wreaths starting at $15, and trees will start at $20.
  • Ideal will also set up shop at Bay Ridge and Silver Spring, adjacent to Dominican High School in Whitefish Bay, from Nov. 21 through Dec. 24. The lot will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. A free raffle will be held for a tree lot gift certificate valued at $150. The lot will also sell wreaths starting at $15, and trees will start at $20.
  • Holy Family Parish School in Whitefish Bay will hold its 10th annual Christmas tree sale every Saturday in December from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Holy Family parking lot at 4849 N Wildwood Ave. Volunteers will be available to give your tree a fresh cut and load it on your car for transportation. Proceeds from the sale will go to Holy Family Parish School. 
  • Bayside Garden Center received its Christmas trees on Nov. 14. The business, located at 400 West Brown Deer Road, is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturdays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays. 
  • Stumpf's Tree Farm, located at 340 Horns Corners Road in Cedarburg, allows customers to browse through 30 acres of greenery and cut their own tree.
  • Trees for Less Nursery, at 11550 Wasaukee Road in Mequon, will sell Christmas tres and wreaths starting Nov. 23 through Dec. 23. The nursery allows customers to come in and chop down their own tree from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
  • Noffke Tree Farms, at 10341 North Granville Road in Mequon, will start selling Christmas trees on Thanksgiving Weekend. Customers can choose and cut their own tree on the 47-acre tree farm. The farm is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
