For 11 years, Mikhail Paskov has had a small shop, Mixa Jewelers, on Oakland Avenue. But what makes this store unique is he not only has diamond rings, emerald pendants ans sapphire bracelets, but he does custom engraving work.
"I just like engraving," Paskov said. "I finished art college in Latvia. It's very interesting to make something by my hand. I do hand-engraving, it's a life not computer work. There's a difference between done by computer and done by hand."
And in this store, the most expensive piece you'll find is a set of diamond earrings. They're 18-kt gold and have 1.65 total weight in diamonds encrusted along the drop-earring design. They are valued at $3,200.
