Verizon Store Reopening Under New Ownership

After closing its doors in December, Verizon retailer Cell Vision hopes to reopen the store within a couple weeks.

After lying vacant for nine months, Shorewood's Verizon Wireless store is reopening under new ownership.

Cell Vision Inc. owner Mike Haber said Thursday he hopes to reopen the cell phone store at 4144 N. Oakland Ave. within a couple weeks. The company is a Verizon retailer, which has 17 stores in Wisconsin and Illinois.

"We are happy to be here in Shorewood," he said. "We've heard a lot of good things."

, after owner Dan Rosenbaum said he would purse other ventures. It was open for almost five years in the village, including as a Sprint store.

Rosenbaum's business gained attention from the village when officials asked Rosenbaum to remove the advertisements from the side of his building because they violated code.

He appealed the decision but eventually gave in and replaced the advertisements with red and black posters , still arguing that the change would hurt his business. Β
