Readers Choice: Who Has the Best Prom Dresses, Tuxes and Suits?

It's full-on prom season, and Patch wants to know which places are the best when it comes time to look for prom dresses, tuxedos and suits. Vote in our poll, rate and review stores, and leave comments.

Prom means fancy clothes, girls dressed bright as butterflies, and guys looking for ways to make their tux stand out in a crowd. If you're looking for prom attire, where do you turn?

Tell us your favorite spots between along the North Shore and up to Port Washington by voting in the poll, leaving comments below, and by rating and reviewing local businesses on their Patch directory pages. Voting begins at 5 a.m. Monday and is open until 9 a.m. Friday. The winner of the Readers' Choice competition for the best place to buy a prom dress, rent a tux or buy a suit will be decided by Patch editors, based on poll votes, ratings and reviews, and by comments on this story.

The best place to find a formal gown or a tux is Milan, Italy. Paris is also good.

Back in the day, I borrowed an elegant dress from my boss(an Avon NY exec) I was only her Nanny for the 7 kids; accessorized and enjoyed the evening; fyi; date wore a white suit coat of 'Clark Gable' vintage and tux trousers-we had more $ to enjoy the evening w/friends. Lots of great shops; but also be inventive; vintage, used-goodwill maybe; make it yourself; it's fun to accessorize, rent even. Point is to enjoy one of the first social evenings of your lives, hey! ab7
