Video: Art is All Around Us in Shorewood

After two days of plein air painting, it's time to buy the artists' visual impressions of Shorewood.

After a two-day art odyssey through Shorewood, the 54 professional artists visiting from all over the Midwest enjoyed a fun Friday night at the Kensington Square Block Party.

The block party featured food, drinks and live music outside of the establishments on Oakland Avenue between Glendale Avenue and Kensington Avenue. The crowd enjoyed music from Loud Mouth Soup and Irish dancing from McMenamin Irish Dance Academy.

Watch the video above to see interviews with some of the artists.

On Saturday, an awards ceremony will be held from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and a gala/reception/silent auction will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Shorewood Public Library, 3920 N. Murray Ave. The event, which is free and open to the public, will also feature hors d'oeuvres, cash bar and entertainment.
