Styles to Suit All Tastes at Summer Concert Series

Free Hubbard Park concerts begin June 30 with Streetlife.

Hubbard Park is home to Shorewood's Summer Sounds concert series, kicking off June 30 for seven consecutive Thursday evenings of free performances covering a wide range of musical styles.

The concerts begin at 6:30 p.m. and the park opens at 5 p.m. Assorted food and beverages will be sold; no carry-in alcohol is allowed.

The lineup for the concerts is as follows:

June 30: Streetlife with Warren Wiegratz. The house band for the Milwaukee Bucks, Streetlife plays R&B, smooth jazz and other contemporary styles.

July 7: Darele Bisquerra and Trio de Janeiro. A smooth mix of bossanova, Latin, jazz, swing and more.

July 14: Jackie Brown and the Boys. Classic/alternative rock, both originals and covers, fronted by Jackie Brown's Joplin-like vocal talents.

July 21: Tweed Funk. Finished second in the Grafton Blues Challenge and nominated for a Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) award as Best New Artist.

July 28: Peter Vaguely with Coolsville. A fresh interpretation of cabaret tunes from the 1920s, '30s and '40s.

Aug. 4: Mrs. Fun. A jazz/funk duo that has played with Indigo Girls and k.d. lang.

Aug. 11: The Gleasons. A fusion of Celtic, Irish, pop and other styles of music.
