Summer Concert Series Continues with the Sounds of Latin America in the Park

Darele Bisquerra & Trio de Janeiro will bring its "soothing energy" to Hubbard Park Thursday.

The sounds of the Latin America will fill Shorewood's Thursday at 6:30 as the Summer Concert Series continues with Darele Bisquerra & Trio de Janeiro.

"They are going to want to dance, take their shoes off," group leader Darele Bisquerra said.

The group has roots in Shorewood, with Bisquerra living in the village for some years, and performed at last year's concert series and at Showcase Shorewood in the fall at the Shorewood High School.

The group will play a unique mix of music from all over South America.

Bisquerra said if you take bossa nova, vintage Latin and cafejazz, you’d get the group's sound.

"It's energetic, but it's also kind of calming," she said.

Bossa nova is a style of Brazilian music and Bisquerra said she sings in two beautiful languages, Portuguese and Spanish.

"It's worth repeating that the music exudes a soothing energy," she said.

She said she prefers the Hubbard Park venue, 3565 N. Morris Blvd., because there is something about playing close to water like the Milwaukee River. She said it was sort of a relaxed welcoming.
