Shorewood Pays Tribute to Military Veterans during Memorial Day Ceremony May 26

The annual event will feature patriotic music from the Shorewood High School band, remarks from public officials, a bagpiper, 21-gun salute and Taps.

Shorewood will pay tribute to military veterans with its annual Memorial Day ceremony on May 26. 

The North Shore American Legion Post #331 and the Shorewood Men's Club are sponsoring the 14th annual event slated to start at 4 p.m. at Atwater Park, according to village manager's memo. 

The program will include patriotic music played by the Shorewood High School Band, remarks by public officials such as County Board Executive Chris Abele, state Sen. Lena Taylor and state Rep. Sandy Pasch, readings, singing by Shorewood High School and Shorewood Intermediate School students, a bagpiper, 21-gun salute, and Taps.

The program will take place rain or shine. 

Spectators should bring their own lawn chairs for seating.

Immediately following the program, there will be a cook-out at the North Shore Legion Post #331 (4121 N. Wilson Drive). Food and beverages are available at a nominal cost.
