Rep. Pasch Leads Grassroots Northshore Forum on State Education Funding

The free forum running 3 p.m. Sunday at North Shore Presbyterian Church starts with a presentation from the Shorewood Democrat, and also includes a panel discussion of funding of voucher, charter and public school.

State Rep. Sandy Pasch will lead a Shorewood forum Sunday on funding of public education under Gov. Scott Walker's proposed 2013-2015 budget. 

Progressive group Grassroots Northshore's forum will start with a presentation from the Shorewood Democrat, followed by a panel discussion of voucher, charter and public schools, special education vouchers and the difference in state funding between the schools. 

It starts 3 p.m. at North Shore Presbyterian Church, 4048 N. Bartlett Ave., and is free to the public. Refreshments will be served.

Walker's budget proposal includes a freeze on public school districts revenue limits, a slight increase in state aid to public schools and extra funding for high-performing districts, and an expansion of the voucher program, which allows students to attend private schools in lieu of underperforming public schools.
