Bicyclists Make First Venture over Oak Leaf Trail Bridge

Bicyclists enjoy the Oak Leaf Trail as it opened Thursday.

Bicyclists and runners enjoyed Shorewood's new Oak Leaf Trail bridge for the first time Thursday since it was replaced in late November.

The bridge was part of a that repaved streets stretching from the Milwaukee River to the lakefront, replaced the Oak Leaf Trail Bridge, modernized street signals, addressed drainage issues and added some decorative features to the major Shorewood drive.
