NORTH SHORE BANK ENCOURAGES COMMUNITY TO NOMINATE OUTSTANDING TEACHERS

BROOKFIELD, Wis. – North Shore Bank today announced plans to hold a contest honoring Wisconsin teachers who excel in the area of money management instruction. As part of the bank’s 90th anniversary festivities, the bank will present three teachers – one in each of the bank’s north, central and southern regions – with a check for $1,923, in honor of the year North Shore Bank opened its doors.

North Shore Bank has a long relationship and history with schools, and it was founded by a group of teachers in Shorewood, Wisconsin 90 years ago. This contest looks to acknowledge educators who have a passion for teaching students the complexities of personal finance.

People are asked to submit nominations by Friday, Oct. 4, 2013. From there a panel of North Shore Bank’s financial experts will narrow the list of nominations and select finalists before opening the contest up to a public online vote. Then, in early November the bank will surprise the winning teachers with a check at his or her school.

“At North Shore Bank, we recognize the great work many teachers do when they teach their students about money – how to manage it and how to avoid debt later in life,” said Sue Doyle, vice president at North Shore Bank. “This is an excellent way for those students to repay their teachers without having to open their own wallets!”

Nominations are open now through Oct. 4 and the forms can be filled out online.
