Map: What Part of Shorewood Has the Most Parents Who Lie About Santa?

Newsmangler is an irregular series that breaks down largely irrelevant blocks of information into more manageable bites of nonsense.  If you see any technical issues with this map or if you'd like to suggest ideas for future Newsmangler articles, please let us know in the comments section below.

Patch's National News Director Catherine Crawford (no relation) recently posted this article regarding parents lying to their children about Santa:

While the majority of parents are truthful about Santa, some insist on telling their children he does not exist.  This flies directly in the face of yearly reports by weatherpersons across the land, and even NASA, tracking his progress as he makes his way from house to house, leaving gifts for good little girls and boys.

Who are these people and why do they persist in wrecking Christmas for the little ones?  Some may be your neighbors!

The map above shows the portion of Shorewood that has the most parents who've chosen to lie to their children about Santa.  The map was designed to allow you to hover your mouse pointer over homes in your area to discover the Grinches and Grinchettes in your neighborhood.

(Note: A number of users have indicated that the map is not working for them.  We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.  We expect to have the map up and running fully by Christmas.  In the mean time, you may wish to call our phone assist line at 1-800-GOT-MAPS.  Wait times can be a bit lengthy as we are experiencing particularly heavy call loads currently.  Thank you in advance for your patience.)

What do you think explains the percentage of people in Shorewood who insist on perpetuating the myth that Santa is not real?  Tell us in a comment or a blog post.
