What's Hot in Shorewood This Week

The library's Summer Celebration, a production of "Alice in Wonderland, Jr." and a garden tour are just a small sampling the village's highlights this week.


Library's Summer Celebration
The Shorewood Library's Summer Celebration will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday. There will be music, ice cream, trolley, games and live music from the local band Frogwater.

Summer Sounds Goes Country
Southern Tradition, which plays modern country hits, will perform at the free Summer Sounds concert series at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Hubbard Park. Bring a lawn chair and blanket. Refreshments will be on sale.

Alice in Wonderland
Shorewood Recreation Department's Drama Junior group will perform Disney's "Alice in Wonderland Jr." at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, as well as 1:30 p.m. on Friday and Sunday at the Shorewood High School Auditorium. Tickets are $5 and are available through the Shorewood Recreation Department or at the door on the night of the show.

Hazardous waste collection
The Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District will be host a household hazardous waste collection event from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Shorewood High School. MMSD will be collecting a variety of household items, including antifreeze, brake fluid, fertilizer, kerosene, oil-based paint, paint thinner, rat poison, and more.

Shorewood Garden Tour
The annual Shorewood Garden Tour will be held Saturday. Tickets are $10 per person and are available at the Garden Room, Shorewood Village Hall and the at the tour on the day of the event.

School Board meeting
The Shorewood School Board will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Shorewood High School Library to discuss the SHS principal hiring process, among other items.
