A Terrific Tuesday in Shorewood

KidsPlay Theater will present a fun play called "Horton Hears a What" at the library Tuesday afternoon.

"A person's a person, no matter how small."

That popular line is from Dr. Seuss' "Horton Hears a Who," a children's literary classic that tells the tale of Horton the Elephant, who is ostracized for protecting a small planet the size of a speck of dust. Nobody but Horton can hear the planet's cry for help – until the very end when the people come together to make as much noise as possible.

KidsPlay Theater will present "Horton Hears a What" – a zany take on this Dr. Seuss favorite during the weekly Terrific Tuesday summer series. The children's event is held from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Shorewood Public Library.

Also happening today:

The Shorewood Plan Commission will meet for a second time to discuss the proposed senior living complex proposed at the former site of the Riverbrook Restaurant on the west end of Capitol Drive. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. on the third floor of Shorewood Village Hall.

The Shorewood School Board will meet at 7 p.m. to consider the hiring process for the new Shorewood High School Principal, among other items.
