More About Atwater Beach and Park
Life's a beach at Atwater Park. This is where you go to stick your toe in cold Lake Michigan and then lie on the sand and tan in the summertime. It's also a nice place to take the tykes for playground fun, a picnic or just a stroll. Romantic in the evening, Atwater Park offers great views from the bluff and the shore. The park also features a sculpture by renowned Spanish artist Jaume Plensa. And it's where Shorewood celebrates Memorial Day and the Fourth of July, hosts a summer Shorewood Concert Band series and each June presents the village tradition of the annual Shorewood Men's Club Chicken BBQ, officially opening Atwater Beach for the season.
