I taught myself to crochet while waiting for the birth of my second child in 1969. Since then, IRead Moreha ve collected patterns from all kinds of places. Most of my patterns are so old, they are considered 'vintage' and are coming back in style. To find a good assortment of free patterns just google "free crochet patterns." If you buy a pattern book, make sure directions for each stitch used are in the back of the book..with pictures. And don't overlook the free patterns on hooks in the yarn department of stores like "Hobby Lobby." After enough time, and practice, you can begin to design your own patterns. Most of mine are very simple and not by a pattern. Color assortments can take you a long way.

Jenny: Go to my Etsy shop (with the link in the ad) and 'Contact the Owner' (on the left handRead Morecolum n). We can discuss your needs. I would need to see the blanket to determine if I can duplicate it. If so, I would be glad to work with you. My children all were attached to their blankets (especially my son), I think he still has it and he's 42 now, so I know my blankets do hold up. Looking forward to hearing from you.
