Woman Accused of Stealing Coworker's Debit Card
Police say a Milwaukee woman stole her coworker's debit card, then used it to buy items at an area Walmart.
A 28-year-old Milwaukee woman is accused of stealing her coworker’s debit card, then using it to buy merchandise at an area Walmart.
Takia Adams was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Wednesday with one count of unauthorized use of personal identification. If convicted, she faces up to three years in prison and $10,000 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint:
On Nov. 16, a woman contacted the Shorewood Police Department after she discovered her debit card was missing from her purse and someone had used it to buy multiple items from a Walmart store located in the 10300 block of West Silver Spring Drive in Milwaukee. The woman said the card was in her purse and left alone with her coworker Adams.
Officers went to Walmart and saw video surveillance video footage of Adams using the card to buy an iPad, diapers and gift cards.
Adams is being held in custody on a $500 signature bond and was ordered turned over to the JUSTICE 2000 program for monitoring while awaiting trial.
