A strong third period helped the combined Whitefish Bay/Nicolet/Shorewood hockey team to a 5-2 win over Brookfield/Catholic Memorial Saturday, extending its win streak to four games.

JSOnline.com reported that the Storm (6-1) were down 2-1 in the second period before tying it up, then scored three times in eight minutes in the third period.

According to WisconsinPrepHockey.net, the Storm’s only loss was a 5-4 decision at Arrowhead, when the Warhawks scored four times in the third period.

WNS opened the season with an 11-1 rout of the Port Washington/Grafton co-op and leads the North Shore Conference with a 2-0-0 record.

The team is at Germantown on Wednesday, then hosts Beloit Memorial at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Kern Center on the campus of MSOE.
