Shorewood Native David Zucker Back for Sequel to State Tourism Commercial

Best known for his films “Airplane,” “The Naked Gun” series, “Ruthless People” and the last two installments of “Scary Movie," Zucker is back in the state to shoot another tourism commercial, this time with a guest star.

Shorewood native David Zucker, who has directed, produced and written some of the most successful comedy films over the past three decades, is coming back to Wisconsin for a sequel to his Department of Tourism commercial.

And, he's bringing a friend this time, according to the Milwaukee Business Journal.

Zucker is best known for his films “Airplane,” “The Naked Gun” series, “Ruthless People” and the last two installments of “Scary Movie."

His first commercial aimed at driving tourism to the state featured the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and aired over the winter.

The Business Journal says Zucker has a press conference planned soon at The Pfister Hotel, and will be joined by Gov. Scott Walker, Department of Tourism Secretary Stephanie Klett and "a former cast member from one of his biggest films." The newspaper speculates the guest star to be Robert Hays, best known for his role in "Airplane."

Zucker will shoot the new commercial in Eagle River, which will air next summer.
