Shorewood High School Celebrates Its Notable Alumni

Graduates who have made significant strides in life ranging from a Congressional Medal of Honor recipient to the Madison chief of police were recognized during a student assembly Friday.

Shorewood High School graduates who have made significant strides in life were recognized during a student assembly Friday.

The ceremony was part of Shorewood's Tradition of Excellence Day, recognizing distinguished alumni.

The honorees included Ben Salomon, Congressional Medal of Honor recipient; Marcia Spector, an innovator in the field of education; Noble Wray, chief of police in Madison; Sumaiya Hamdani, expert and founder of the Department of Islamic studies at George Mason University; and political analysts, experts and brothers Daniel and Jonathan Schnur. Also honored will be inspirational history/political science teacher from 1967 to 1999, Sonja Ivanovich.
