Shorewood Foreclosures on the Market
The well-documented, unfortunate result of a housing market collapse was the high frequency of foreclosures, but if there's an upside, it's reduced priced, available homes.
If there's an upside to the housing market crisis, it's the opportunity to find cheap foreclosed homes.
A brief search of AOL Real Estate revealed a few foreclosed houses in the village:
1615 E. Kenmore Pl. — $159,900
This home features four bedrooms, two bathrooms. The home is being sold "as is."
1616 E. Kenmore Pl. — $159,900
Three bedrooms and two bathrooms fill this 1,651 square foot duplex.
1831 E. Elmdale Ct. — $200,000
Shorewood bungalow features four bedrooms, two bathrooms and an open floor plan.

It's happening everywhere, Jenny, and it's not always a case of a family being tossed out of their home. Sometimes it's a flipper who got in over their head (see the as-is property above - many of those are of that variety) or people who decided to walk away from the house because they were upside down on their mortgage. Without knowing the circumstances, it's hard to label the situation as necessarily unfortunate. Foreclosed houses do, however, represent opportunities for people to purchase a home in an area that ordinarily might be out of their price range.
