Shorewood Choirs Named Among the Best in Nation

The choir program has been recognized by Choirs of America and has been invited to American Performance Nationals at Carnegie Hall.

Shorewood School District's choir program has been recognized by Choirs of America as one of the best in the nation.

As part of the accolade, the high school choir has been invited to the American Performance Nationals at Carnegie Hall in spring 2014. However, due to a choir trip to New York's Lincoln Center this summer, the group cannot participate.

Additionally, high school seniors Henry Cummings and Ben Khulmann recently advanced to finals in the Civic Music Association Auditions. The two were awarded $250 scholarships for their singing skills.

Absolutely can't beat a great public school, such as Shorewood. The fine arts, fine academics. Congrats!

My son was in choir for 6 years and loved every minute. Not only was he trained to sing, but he found confidence. He is now at college, singing in their choir, and the director asked if he'd been trained professionally. I'd say so. It's a fantastic program and Mr. Clark is more than amazing.

Mr Clark is an amazing teacher in so many ways. Not only does he give the students a top notch musical education, he is "in tune" with the as individuals and passes along the values of teamwork. Mr.Clark and Shorewood Choirs can't be beat!!

Very nice recognition of a truly great public school with a singularly sensational legacy of outstanding arts education. One question - why does this summer's trip preclude participation in next spring's event? If alumni raised funds necessary to continue the drama department's costumer, perhaps a fund raiser could send the choir to Carnegie Hall - they've already put in the practice, practice, practice.

Jason! Wow! Kudus to you, althought it doesn't suprise me. Your choir has been on top every year for so long. Mr. Ross would be so supportive.
