Milwaukee Man Caught in the Act of Suspected Car Break-in
Suspect says he mistakenly entered the wrong car, because he owns a similar car parked down the block, after being confronted the owner.
A 29-year-old Milwaukee man was cited Sunday after a resident observed the man sitting in their car.
According to the police report, at 3:20 p.m. in the 1900 block of East Kensington Boulevard, the owner told police they saw the man sitting in their unlocked car with the door closed.
The car owner walked to the car and confronted the man. The suspect told the owner he mistakenly entered the wrong car, because he owns a similar car parked down the block. When the suspect stood up to exit the car, coins fell to the pavement.
The car owner told police the man walked east toward North Oakland Avenue, past the car he said he owned.
Police caught up to him in the 4400 block of Oakland Avenue. He later told police he was in the area visiting a friend and was dropped off by a person named Pi.
He was cited for obstructing an officer and loitering.
